Macaca Mulatta

Macaca Mulatta is the new band of former Art Brut guitarist Chris Chinchilla. When he first left the band he partnered with Jim Rhesus to form Rhesus which has since imploded. Now, after playing a secret gig with The Rakes their latest band has recorded four songs and is playing shows all over London. You can listen to the songs by clicking the links below or by visiting their myspace page which is also linked below.

As for the music, you can definately hear the influence of Art Brut and The Clash thrown in there with some really strong base lines and a much more melodic singing voice than Art Brut's Eddie Argos. It comes off as a bit punk, a bit indie, and a lot of pop creating some really good tunes that could have everyone singing by the songs end. I'm enjoying the tunes so far and I'm looking forward to what else this band may be capable of. But of course don't take my word for it, go listen to the songs...
