Monday: Love Is All, Titus Andronicus, + Abe Vigoda @ Maxwell's 8:30pm $12
I swear Titus Andronicus get to play on all the best bills! Friday night it was with Man Man, tonight it's sanwiched in between Love Is All and Abe Vigoda! That's some straight up regular lineup right there and this is gonna be one sweaty fun show!
Love Is All - "Sea Sick"
Titus Andronicus - "My Time Outside the Womb"
Abe Vigoda - "Bear Face"
Tuesday: The Undisputed Heavyweights + Wakey! Wakey! @ Bowery Ballroom 7pm $12
Tonight The Undisputed Heavyweights take a final bow at the Bowery Ballroom. The band have become a sort of local celebrity on the Lower East Side, selling out their random, overly spread out shows in minutes normally. Basically this is the swan song, one last goodbye to all the fans that supported them for so long. It's a double bonus as we also get to see Wakey! Wakey! open up for the band.
The Undisputed Heavyweights - "Money"
Wakey! Wakey! - "LGA"
Wednesday: Fucked Up, Vivian Girls, + Abe Vigoda @ Bowery Ballroom 8pm $10
If you failed to make it to any of the 12-hour performance Fucked Up will be doing on Monday afternoon, evening, and dawn, well then you have the good fortune of having a second chance at witnessing the spectacle that is Fucked Up's live show! They will be supported by the ever present Vivian Girls and Abe Vigoda who seem to be switching coasts right now.
Fucked Up - "Looking for God"
Vivian Girls - "Going Insane"
Abe Vigoda - "The Garden"
Thursday: Ra Ra Riot + Walter Meego @ Bowery Ballroom 8pm $15
Ra Ra Riot and Walter Meego have been on tour for a little while now and tonight that tour steamrolls into and out of New York. I think it's a sweet lineup overall and I have a feeling a lot of people will agree with me so pick up tickets now if you wanna go!
Ra Ra Riot - "Oh, La"
Walter Meego - "Girls"
Friday: Baltimore Round Robin (Night 1) @ (le) poisson rouge 7pm $8
Rumor has it the most awesome concert experience (hypothetically) of the fall is already sold out, but I am sure there is a small chance that there will some walk up tickets. If I had to choose between the nights I'd choose Saturday but Friday is pretty solid as well with the over hyped Beach House, the always amazing Jana Hunter, Santa Dads, WZT Hearts and many more playing "in the round"!
Beach House - "Apple Orchard"
Jana Hunter - "Babies"
Santa Dads - "You Don't Know"
Saturday: Baltimore Round Robin (Night 2) @ (le) poisson rouge 7pm $8
Like I said up top, this may be sold out but it's the night I want to go to! Anyone with tickets for sale should e-mail me this week or I will be doing the old walkup thing. Rocking it old school for a night!
Dan Deacon - "Crystal Cat"
The Death Set - "Around the World"
Future Islands - "Old Friends"
Sunday: The Pains of Being Pure At Heart, Women, + The Beets @ Cake Shop 8pm $7
This month Friction is kicking off CMJ week a little early with a pair of shows. This one is going to be awesome with a bunch of terrific bands that are going to steal your hearts during the Marathon getting an early start on things. I have a feeling this will be packed with anyone flying in early for the week so make sure you get there as doors open and stay until last call!
The Pains of Being Pure At Heart - "Everything With You"
Women - "Black Rice"
The Beets - "Happy But On My Way"
