Top 10: Album Closers of the 90's

In thinking up my top 10 for the week I had the initial thought of doing the best album closers of all-time, but that challenge was so throroughly daunting that I decided to narrow it down to just the 90's the age in which I grew up and have a fond affection for. Perhaps over the course of this I will do a decade by decade version of this particular list and have them go head-to-head at some point. Perhaps. For now here's the list, feel free to tell me I'm an idiot but make sure you back it up with your own list.

10. Oasis - "Champagne Supernova"

9. Nirvana - "Something in the Way"

8. Belle & Sebastian - "Judy and the Dream of Horses"

7. Pavement - "Filmore Jive"

6. My Bloody Valentine - "Soon"

5. Weezer - "Only In Dreams"

4. Wilco - "Reservations" (came out in 2001, shit.)

3. Nine Inch Nails - "Hurt"

2. Radiohead - "The Tourist"

1. Neutral Milk Hotel - "Two-Headed Boy Part 2"

All good except for Champagne Supernova, which is awful...I'd probably take out Oasis, Wilco, and Nine Inch Nails, and put in "Find the River" by R.E.M., "Untrustable Part 2" by Built to Spill, and "Good Morning, Captain" by Slint. Also didn't Yankee Hotel Foxtrot come out in 2001? Ok, done being a jerk. Cool list idea, love your blog!

You are indeed right about Wilco, for some reason I was thinking it came out in 1999. My bad on that one. Your three suggestions are definitely solid and were on the long list that was cut down. Of course any one of them could pop in for the removed Wilco at this point.

Street Spirit (Fade out) by Radiohead.

Also, does Something In the Way really an album closer if there is a hidden track?
