(Editor's Note: Obviously with it being CMJ week in New York there are a ton of great shows worth checking out. If you are one of the folks without a badge just looking to check out one good show a night then these are the picks for you. You can also look forward to full CMJ previews each day this week pointing you towards the best showcases possible. Have a great week!)

Monday: Washed Out + Restless People @ Santo's Party House 11pm $10 [tix]
On the eve of the CMJ Music Marathon a lot of folks I know will hang back, get a good nights sleep, and get ready for the madness of the week, but if you're not a big baby you might want to get things started right with a solid showcase of two up-and-coming acts. Both Washed Out and Restless People have been building some buzz over the last few months and for our money they're both definitely worth the attention they've been getting. So start your sleepless nights off right with a double headed bill totally worthy of your own attention.
Washed Out - "Luck"
Restless People - "Days of Our Lives (Light In Mix)"

Tuesday: Here We Go Magic, Titus Andronicus, Woods, + Beach Fossils @ Webster Hall 8pm $10 [free with Going.com iPhone App] [updated FREE RSVP link!]
Yet another reason to own an iPhone, sigh. I don't have one myself so I'll have to pay to get in here but for you technology lovin' folks definitely don't miss this monster of a lineup. All of these bands have been raved about in the past year and all four put on a show worthy of all of your attention. This is a no brainer, can't miss bill that will certainly set the tone for the rest of your CMJ week.
Here We Go Magic - "Ahab"
Titus Andronicus - "My Time Outside the Womb"
Woods - "To Clean"
Beach Fossils - "Daydream"

Wednesday: Cymbals Eat Guitars, Real Estate, I Was A King, Small Black, Deastro, Free Energy, Beach Fossils, & More @ Santo's Party House 6:30pm $15 [tix]
One of the best aspects of CMJ is the huge bills people put together to showoff just how many people they know and how many cool bands they can get to play their show. This one is absolutely loaded with bands big and small that will tear the roof off of Santo's Party House and truly put the party in the name to good use. Beside that $15 for 8 or 9 bands is pretty good bang for your buck.
Cymbals Eat Guitars - "Cold Spring"
Real Estate - "Pool Swimmers"
I Was A King - "California"
Small Black - "Despicable Dogs"
Deastro - "Pyramid Builders"
Free Energy - "Dark Trance"
Beach Fossils - "Vacation"

Thursday: Yacht @ Brooklyn Bowl 7pm FREE [with RSVP]
Half the reason to attend CMJ is to party and tonight's show at Brooklyn Bowl with Yacht and a slew of DJ's will certainly be a party. The other half of course is the music, Yacht will certainly bring their best to this show! Do not miss it!
Yacht - "Summer Song"

Friday: Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, Lemonade, Cold Cave, Harlem, Glasser, & Tanlines @ The Suffolk 7pm FREE [w/RSVP or $5]
The recent pairing of True Panther Sounds with Matador records has been an eye opening association of two labels that truly know their shit. Tonight they incorporate a bunch of their bands onto the same bill and it is absolutely loaded with great music and bands that bring their A-game to the stage every night. The recent Matador signees Ted Leo & the Pharmacists are definitely the big draw, but everyone on this bill is worth seeing, especially for FREE or for $5 if you fail to RSVP!
Ted Leo & the Phamacists - "High Party"
Lemonade - "Sunchips"
Cold Cave - "Youth & Lust"
Harlem - "South of France"
Glasser - "Apply"
Tanlines - "Power Everything"

Saturday: JEFF: the Brotherhood, Screaming Females, Surfer Blood, + Sisters @ Above the Autoparts Store 10pm $10 [info]
Oh My Rockness has planned a very busy week of shows, none of which are as strong as this bill. Of course two of the bands will be playing my own, free day party on Tuesday, but to see all four together in a small, intimate, rowdy venue will be a freaking blast!
JEFF: the Brotherhood - "Mind Ride"
Screaming Females - "Adult Army"
Surfer Blood - "Swin (To Reach the End)"
Sisters - "Glue"
(Just so you know Fader and Pitchfork are both planning huge events for Saturday as well! Will update when I'm allowed to!)

Sunday: The Almighty Defenders + US Royalty @ Maxwell's 9pm $17 [tix]
The Sunday after CMJ should be a day to detox, to catch up on sleep, or to clear out your DVR, but tonight you really shouldn't sleep past the second US show from The Almighty Defenders. With King Khan, BBQ Show, and the Black Lips joining forces you will not want to miss this sure to outlandish group take over the legendary Maxwell's.
The Almighty Defenders - "I'm Coming Home"
US Royalty - "Every Summer"
